Foster Care Awareness Month!

It's Been an Eventful Month!

This month has been an eventful one! May is National Foster Care Month and as foster care missionaries, we like to take opportunities to bring awareness of the need for Christian families to care for the vulnerable, abused and neglected children in our communities. We also believe The Church can be instrumental in ministering to these families, by wrapping around them with tangible, practical help, as foster/adoptive parents are in the trenches– caring for the least of these.

Churches are positioned to solve both of these issues. If you want to learn how your church can be a part of the solution, contact Sandra Hogue at Sandra@onefamilyfl.com or by phone or text at 386-383-2553.

So far this month, Stephen and Sandra have had the opportunity to speak on two different radio stations regarding foster care and vulnerable families. We empower and equip the churches through preventive intervention (CarePortal) and retention/wrap-around (CompaCare).

OneFamily is the Implementing Partner for CarePortal and Sandra Hogue continues to be the CarePortal regional manager; she trains agencies on how to use a computer program to enter needs that churches can fulfill. We are also certified CompaCare ministry trainers, helping churches implement wrap-around care for foster/adoptive families.

We have been utilizing social media as a huge part of how we share statistics, scripture that supports orphan care, and encourage the Body of Christ to answer the call to care for orphans in their time of need (James 1:27).

As disciples of Christ, we should pray about our role as individuals and as the Church. We must prayerfully be prepared to respond.

For abused, neglected, and at-risk children, The OneFamily Team

The Vision is Not Gone!

Last month's 2nd annual Vision Dinner was amazing! If you were able to attend, we hope that you enjoyed it and that you saw old friends, and made new ones! We received financial gifts of over $60,000 that evening, and we praise God for all that He has done!

Thank you for listening as we shared the vision God has given us for OneFamily. We desire to see the ministry building purchased and fully renovated so that we can further our work in Volusia County, Flagler County, and beyond!

Unfortunately, we were not able to raise the funds needed to secure the building for the OneFamily Center. We needed $3.2 million in cash. However, the vision is not gone! We know that God still has a huge plan for our communities and the mission of OneFamily. Through your faithful giving, we will reach new heights that God has laid out before us!

If you still want to give, go to OneFamilyfl.com/donate or financial gifts can also be mailed to 271 Rodeo Rd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174. All gifts are tax-deductible.
